The Vignassa is set in two and a half acres of its own land which in turn
is set in hundreds of acres of intriguing woodland. As the hillside is steep
most of our land is terraced. Behind the house there is a small field. To
the east the terraces are given over to grass and vegetables (the grass hides
the snails which eat the vegetables). To the south there are more grassy
terraces and to the west another field and some wooded terraces.
Most of the land on all sides except for the south is in turn surrounded
by unkempt but reasonably open woodland ideal for the hiker and wildlife
enthusiast and also for children and adults alike to explore.
